help
Hi there,
How can I pronounce the 'you' after 'help' , 'helped' and 'tell'? Does 'p', 'ed' and 'l' will link 'you' when pronouncing them?
Thanks
pete

Re: help
It does not usually elide.
help you
- the "p" is distinct from the "you".
Are you finding it difficult?

Re: help
Hi there,
Will the sound of 'you' change when it goes with 'helped and told' as in the case of 'thank you'?
Thanks

Re: help
Pete, why would the sound of the 'you' need to change? Can you explain how 'you' changes?

Re: help
If you are pronoucing the help
ed,"
with a strong "ed" athen it might affect words that come after.
Actually, "helped" is pronounced help"tuh"

Re: help
Susie, it still wouldn't/shouldn't change the sound of the word following. And in my opinion
helped
is properly ponounced help-'t', not -'tuh'.
