| When you teach phonetics to non-native speakers, would you teach it theoretically or practically? Would you teach students how to use the British/American accent? |

| Practicality is important IMO. I have found very few students to be interested in the ins and outs of phonetics; most are motivated by a desire to improve their accent/pronunciation rather than to know about the alveolar ridge. |
