Today, i watched a webste which teaches pronounciation. i am suspected with one of that teachings, it says the word"for" mostly pronouces "fer" except the situation when it is located at the end of the sentence like" what are you looking for? then it pronouce 4. I don't know how to type phonetic symbol; however, i guess my statement is still understandable. if you also that's wrong, can you tell me the correct way of pronouncing this word.
The word on its own sounds the same as "four" [4]. But within a sentence, it becomes unstressed and can sound like "fur".
It is difficult to say that it can only be pronounced in one way because of the way in which a person speaking quickly or naturally will slur words. Regional accents will also alter the sounds.
