| | Pronunciation for Chinese student. I'm teaching a Chinese ESL student, who needs to improve her pronunciation. (She works in California for a big multi-national).
Can any body suggest any advice, techniques, excercises ?
Thanks |

Thanks | Hi! I would suggest let her imitate audio files, eg. BBC, VOA, read out by a certain native speaker from every single word to tone time and again. And then let her read it out for you, you can correct her pronunciation.
I assume if she can insist everyday in three months, her pronunication will improve.
(I'm not a teacher.)

(We were discussing Palin & Alaska and she could not pronounce "oil-drilling").
She was recently told at an job interview that she would not be promoted because the interviewer could not understand her. |

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. Yes, I mean 'insist on practising'. A Chinese friend, whose pronuniciation is good, once told me if I could practise in this way, my pronunciation would improve. | | The Following User Says Thank You to thedaffodils For This Useful Post: | |
