Default "Car" pronounced like "caw"

Hi, I'd like to know if it's true that some black people pronounce words like car, party, our, smart, ecc... (words with an AH sound followed by an R) with an AW sound, so we have caw, pawty, aw, smawt. Is that true? And why sometimes do they switch to the AH sound?
Please answer me, I'm very interested in American English accents!!!

They don't talk like that on American TV shows
Have you heard black people saying that? or just heard from someone that they do?

Rap requires rhythmic sounds, so words will be spoken in such a way as to achieve that rhythm. It is almost not speech but a form of voice music.

There is also an interesting phenomenon of the way in which African inflexions have survived in black speech in certain parts of the US which could lead to some of these pronunciations.
