"Hitting" as "hitten". Where are they from?

If you heard an American speaker saying "hitting" as "hitten" (hitn), "feeding" as "feeden" (feedn), "missing" as "missen" (rhymes with "listen") where would you say the speaker is from? I'm very interested in dialects and if anyone helped me with this I'd be real happy.

I would say that the speaker is lazy and is not pronoucing the "ing" as it should be.

But there are dialects from the South or Southeast regions where you might hear that.

Does anyone else know more exactly where I can hear that? For example it seems to be spread in the New York area, but I might be wrong...
