| It can be pronounced "femi - NINE" as in the gramatical rule: a word ending in an "e" preceded by a consonant preceded by a vowel = do not voice the final "e" and the preceding vowel "says it's name" i.e., long vowel. In this instance "i" prounced as "eye" However, in USA English it is predominantly pronounced "femi - NIN" with the "i" sound as in "hill, fit, it, etc." |
