Scottish accent

Dear friends,
I am looking for a website where I can find some recordings with prevailing scottish accent.

Is there any diffrence between Scottish and Wales accents?

P.s
I am not sure that word 'prevailing' is suitable here. Generally it's very tricky word for me.
If it won't be a problem I'll ask the question on this word at the 'Ask the Teacher' section.

Scots Language Centre - Scots Corpus web site goes live

There are a number of different "accents", depending on where in Scotland you live. That in the Islands, and the north and northwest are affected by the sound of spoken Gaelic [or in the case of Shetland, by Norwegian]; that of the east and south are affected by close connection with English. Glasgow is much affected by the northern Irish accent.

If you can understand these guys you will understand any of the Scottish accents. Its tough even for native speakers.

Are they with typical Scottish accent?

I've heard that accent in 'Rab C Nesbit' is not a typical Scottish. It's more like Scottish of non-educated people?

Rab Is really OK. Excellant movie.

Rab Is really OK. Excellant movie.

They're both working-class accents - but working-class accents are typical, even if they're not standard English. If you want to hear Scots speaking standard English, you could still try Macbeth. It's modern English, even it's old modern English. The accents will be contemporary.

"Taggart" on DVD will give you a more generally standard Scottish accent range.

Usually Macbeth is not played with accents, but with received English.
