Default Songs For Listening and Speaking

Hello

Which singers do you suggest for English learners to listen to improve their listening and speaking? Whose songs are more understandable for an English learner?

Hi!

I like using Phil Collins. The singing is clear and not really slurred, especially his In The Air Tonight song. I tend to stay away from rap and rnb since those lyrics are MUCH harder to understand, not to mention the plethora of idioms and slang used.

Many of the older singers, from the 50's 60's 70's have wonderful enunciation, their songs are easy to understand, and are sung slowly enough to be able to follow them.

If you are looking for more modern singers, try Michael Bubble, Diana Krall, or Rod Stewart's "Great American Songbook"

What about Chris de Burgh?

His voice is clear, his songs are nice and understandable,I think that's a good choice.
Try it.
