Default Children as Chi'w'dren

Having some upbringing as a little kid in the U.S., I tend to pronounce "children" as "chi'w'dren" in fast speech. would it be acceptable as an adult?

Hiro

Some people will accept it; some won't. The important thing is whether they understand you or not. The Japanese pronunciation of /r/ and /l/ usually causes problems only when there is ambiguity.

That is not a problem with my English pronunciation thanks to the length of time I was there, and the ages I was when I was there. It's just that fine point I thought I should be careful about. I tend to say "awwwright!" for "all right!" It rubbed off on me. I thought, as a grown-up, I may have to be extra careful.
