Lightbulb Introductory Lesson Ideas

Greetings everyone, I am new to the forums and teaching English. Can anyone share some fun ideas for an introductory/initial assessment lesson of an intermediate level first class? Thanks!

Have everyone use English to say their name, where they are from, one good thing about themselves and one embarrassing thing. Assess their levels based on their speech. Then, ask them to help you write a short autobiographical paragraph on the board, using the class clown or someone confident enough as an example. Then, assign them their own in writing, to be handed in at the end of class.
