Question Help with First Lesson! Ideas?

Greetings everyone, I am new to the forums and teaching English. Can anyone share some fun ideas for an introductory/initial assessment lesson of an intermediate level first class? Thanks!

hi..it is sometimes difficult to gage their 'real' levels, although you say they are intermediate.ı encourage them to tell their partner 5 things about her/himself.it makes obvious how good their english is,or how willling to speak the target language.. lower level sts or higher level ones will build different sentences, you can plan your roadmap then..ı always do that in my first lessons..just a simple idea..
