Default CELTA and teaching jobs

If my interview goes well, I should be starting a CELTA course next week, which will last until the start of the new year. My eventual aim is to teach abroad, and I'd like to buff up my CV as much as possible in the meantime. However, from what I can tell, it seems very unlikely that this is going to be enough to find me a job. I have no prior teaching experience, and no other relevant qualifications.

I was wondering if anybody knows anything more about the job market, and is there anything I can do (other courses and such) that will boost my chances of finding work? I saw some job adverts that mentioned 'UK recognised teaching certification', and some that required both CELTA and TEFL.

Am I fighting a losing battle, or is there anything I can do to give myself an edge? Any help would be greatly appreciated

It depends where you want to work. The CELTA is a standard qualification for getting a job. In some countries it has to be (arts/languages/any) degree + CELTA, and while experience is a plus, schools often have urgent places to fill. Schools in, say, European capitals can be pretty much as demanding as they want, but it's not all like that. Do you know where you want to go?
