Smile ESL via email

Hello!
I've got a Skype interview in a couple of days with a company based in Japan who are recruiting tutors to teach English through email penpal-type chat.
I have basically no teaching experience but would love to teach ESL so I'm thinking this will be a good way to start while I do TESL starting in October.
Anyone out there have any experience of this or any basic tips for the interview/Japanese culture/ESL?
Thanks in advance
Alison
