Default writing through pictures

Hello, there:
I am not a teacher.
I am looking for some pictures for writing for my nephew whose age is 9 years old but I have no idea how to find the pictures.
May I ask your help?
Thanks a lot!

Can you explain a little more clearly? Are these drawings which the child must describe?

Yes,I am looking for them.
Or he can make a story in English from the pictures.
May I get more information about this?
It's hard for me to find them.
Thanks a lot!

Dear WUKEN:

There are many wordless picture books on the market which are a delightful way for children to practice writing (and storytelling in general). A favorite is Where Is the Cake? by Thé Tjong-Khing. It's a series of charming, detail-filled illustrations that tell the story of a cake that is stolen by a couple of mischievous rats and the chase that ensues. The characters are all animals and the pictures give opportunities to talk and write about vocabulary, aspects of plot, grammatical structures, etc. It has been published in several languages. My copy is ¿Donde está el pastel?, but the edition hardly matters, since the only words are those in the title.

A great source of images that can serve as writing prompts is the 'In Pictures' feature on the BBC website.

Google Images has an almost unlimited collection of pictures. Using this site, you can search for particular content to match your specific goals.

Another entertaining approach is to use comics with the dialogue blocked out. Your nephew can then tell you the story in his own words.

I hope this is helpful,

Petra
