Default 40 minute Demo Lesson for beginners

I'm struggling as I try to design a 40 minute lesson plan for a beginning level adult education class - for an observed Demo Lesson. I don't have a problem thinking of activities for this length of time as part of a longer lesson. It's just really difficult to plan a lesson that follows the whole WIPPEA format in such a short time frame. Any suggestions?
