Default Preparing an adult for KET

Hello from a newbie

Does anyone have experience in preparing an adult for the Cambridge KET? (A2 level)

I have a new job teaching English one-on-one to an Engineer. Her employer requires that she pass the KET within a year. She speak German, Polish and Russian. I have downloaded a lot of information and a number of resources from the Cambridge website, but I would really appreciate tips and advice from teachers who have 'been there, done that'.

Specifically - any ideas for the first lesson?

PS I have CELTA and some experience teaching EFL and ESL, but have not taught anyone with the KET as a target.
