Default Tefl or not Tefl

Hi

Just passed an ITTT TEFL online course and I'm being asked to choose between a TEFL certificate and a TESOL certificate.

I suppose I'm wondering, which is the better one to go for. Knowing that there is no real difference.. In your work experiences, which is better looked upon by potential employers?

If it helps, I'll be teaching in southern France.

Thanks.

TEFL is more common. TESOL tends to be used more in the US.
