Beginning ESL Teacher
This is a great website for Teachers of ESL.
I am new as a home tutor for women from Japan.
In the classroom I felt confident.
In the home, I am less confident. I am struggling!
Any suggestion's? Thank You.

Re: Beginning ESL Teacher
In someone you don't know well's home or office, you're on unfamiliar territory and there's something of a reversal- in the classroom, they come into 'your' territory, and also a space that has been organised to enable teaching/learning. Can you give examples of what is making you struggle? I haven't taught in homes, but I have taught in offices and found there were logistical issues, but they can be handled and it didn't take long for the strangeness to wear off.
