I'm wondering what the difference between "They know of it" and "They know about it" is?

If you know of something, you have some basic knowledge, while when you know about something, you have more information.

They know about it . means that we just know (they know about it) but we don't know how much they know about it . They know something of it . means that we know that (they know a part of it) but they don't know everything about it Last edited by Claire Redfield; 23-Sep-2005 at 13:41.
