I am a new ESL tutor, and looking for a pre-test post-test that I can give my students to demonstrate the progress they have made after working with me. Any suggestions?
Welcome to the forum, nickyshumack.
Before anybody can help, we need to have an idea of what their level will be when they start with you, and what you hope they will have learnt when the have completed your course.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
Yes, I actually am working with students ranging from beginner to intermediate. I'm looking for a diagnostic test that will demonstrate to them their pre-tutoring English speaking/comprehension level, and then, after I am finished tutoring them (probably in a few months time), a test that I can give them again to demonstrate their progress.
With a range like that the whole project is difficult.
A test along the lines of this, http://www.cic-totalcare.com/en/pdf/EngPT.pdf, could perhaps be administered both as a pre- and post-course test.
