Help for fisrt class

Hello everybody.

It's my first class and I don't have any experience at all.

I need some help to plan the class.
It's a 3 hour class. Really long! And the students are teenagers.

It's a beginners class, but I don't know exactly the level of the students.

I was told to start with the verb to be and some adjectives.

exemple: I am a good student. You are funny. He is handsome.

But I need some fillers or something. Since the class is too long.

I would be really glad if you could help me.

Sorry, but there is no realistic way we can help you. If you are really a completely inexperienced teacher, then your school has behaved unforgivably in placing you in this situation.

You need to tell the person who assigned you this class that you need rather more than "verb to be and some adjectives". If they cannot offer anything better, then look for another job.

I had one month of preparation and I've been watching the classes of other teachers. Now I have to plan my own.
Although I don't have experience, I belive I'm ready to teach.

How do teachers learn to teach? And when do they begin?

Woooah, Riiko. Things have changed dramatically since your first post. Then you had no experience at all; now you have been preparing and observing for a month. That's quite a significant difference.

Have you observed the class you are scheduled to teach? If you have, then you have some idea of what they can and can't do.

A three-hour class with teenagers could well prove to be challenging. What facilities and resources do you have?

What kind of instructional materials have you been provided or are available to you? Most materials of the type you would seem to need include a series from beginner to advanced and, among other features, provide a typical progression plan in terms of English language elements/grammar and in terms of day-to-day usage.

How many students are we talking ?

You need to make sure whether you'll have computers , a beamer , a.s.o. at your disposal.

I'd definitely come prepared and bring along paper and pens to be on the safe side (if they try to get funny with you or the noise level gets too much to bear).

One safe topic for all levels would probably be the Olympics.

One last thing : I always try to get hold of a list of the students' names before a new course starts - calling them by their (first) names usually makes them participate faster.

Not really. The students are totaly new, it is their first class at the course.

What facilities and resources do you have?

We have a TV in which we can connect our computers.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the teaching. Don't worry at all. I'm sure you can manage it all well, regarding the mistakes in teaching, again don't worry, they pave the way of a better teaching. Just put it down to experience and carry on with your teaching.
