Do you have any troubles in the work?
Which part of the test seems the most difficult to your students? And you?
What is the English level of the students you teach for IELTS?

I teach in a university, where high grades are required. I don't teach IELTS itself, but teach students who want to do postgraduate courses in the UK. The difficulties vary with stuidents and there backgrounds- we get lots who are experts on grammar, but have difficulties speaking because their educational system lays little emphasis on this and encourages rote learning. What's the system like in Russia?

Well, I work as an English language teacher in a vet hospital and teach IELTS in a language school ( in groups and individually ).

In groups it’s much easier as all the students are the same level (up-interm) and can easily express their thoughts and speak, though almost everybody has problems with writing part of the test. I think it happens so as in Russia it is not taught at school or university to write essays or letters in English.

When it comes to individual lessons it’s VERY difficult sometimes. Now I have a student she’s hardly pre-intermediate she wants to live in Australia so she needs the certificate. She tries to do the best, I try to do the best… But it seems to me it’s not enough….

In the case of the private student, it seems that her objective is unrealistic unless she is prepared to wait and study for a long time. There's no way a pre-intermediate student could get a good score on IELTS.

Agree with you. She's ready to study for a long time. But I consider it to be hard work any way.

Can you persuade her to go for a lower level exam that might give a clearer short- or medium-term objective?

I worked as an English teacher for 7 years in secondary school then I quit now I am taking teaching English as a second language class.TEFL
I have an assignment about Keller's PSI. Does PSI mean one to one teaching?
Does one to one teaching mean to teach only a student in a class/home?
or it means that you teach in a group students in the class one by one.
If you give more knowldge I will be happy.

Hi Anna, actually Iam not a techer, I am trying to get good score in IELTS, I did the General one last year, and Iam prepariing to do it soon, but the most diffcult part for me is writing, and I do not know how can I improve my writing skill, especailly academic writing, it was the lowest score. So , please tell me if you have tips, advice that they can help me.
