Default Searching discussion activity

Dear All,

I'm a new member to "using english" and I'm looking desperately for a special discussion activity I did years ago ( when I was a youngster and myself attended english class :) )

It was a story about total destruction of the world ( not very nice I know), and you have only one airplane where 6 people could get on.

The students have to choose which 6 would be the best choice to start "new civilisation" on a far away island.

The text introduced 8-10 different people, all of them with negative and positive characteristics.

Story is obviously not very "nice" but offers a lot room for discussion.

Is there anybody out there who has a copy of this activity ?

Please let me know !

Thank you all

Regards

Panthera

Hi, Panthera!
I have a textbook called "Cambridge Advanced English" by Leo Jones, Cambridge University Press.
There is a chapter there that has a poem about 8 people living on a desert island, and they built a kind of civilization there.
Does it sound familiar?

Best wishes,
Sasha

Hi Sacha !

Thank you for your answer.

Basically I don't know if this is the activity I'm looking for...

The story was that the course was kind of a council that had to choose which 6 people should go to the island and start the new civilisation.

The course had to choose out of 9 or 10 people.

Every person had a detailed description like gender, job, hobbies, how they react and so on...

I don't think it was a poem....

But thank you anyway

Best wishes,

Panthera

It sounds to me like a kind of balloon debate: Balloon debate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
