How to get started?
I want to start an English Language Learner ministry in my church, which is in a very culturally and ethnically diverse area of a suburb of Dallas. While I am degreed and going through my state's certification process to teach (my college hours put me "highly qualified" in English/Language Arts & Reading), I do not have any specific ESL training.
So, my question is: how do I get started? What should I put in my proposal to the church? How much would curriculum reasonably cost? Is the booklet for download on this site a good introduction for what I need to know?
Thanks in advance!!

Re: How to get started?
To get started, you would need to have an idea of the levels of your students and their desired goals, from which a curriculum could be built. Do they require literacy training? Are they hoping to reach certain examination standards, how will they be using their English? I would start by asking amon g the community what they would expect or want from you.
