Intermediate/Advanced courses for young learners

My son is seven and we are reading Get Set Go 5. Just don't know what to choose next after we finish Get Set Go 6. (We've read Chatterbox 1-4 as well as Get Set Go 1-4). I thought of Way Ahead 1-6 with further Move Ahead, but this seems to be a bit different English like "Do you have?" instead of "Have you got?" and "made from..." instead of "made of..." (Not that it bothers me that much what's better, just a matter of consistency). Should we continue with OUP then? What do you think of Project? It looks very exciting for the age and I feel one has no choice anyway.

With regards to consistency, it's the key for young learners. However, your son will eventually be faced with a variety of English dialects sooner or later, so why not start introducing him to the different varieties of English now, especially while he's young and can still absorb the world like a little sponge.
Note that, Do you have? is considered American English, whereas Have you got? is considered British English. Mind you, I use both and I am North American: Canadian. Knowledge is power, right? ;-)

As for which text to choose next, your best bet is to go with what works; what your son enjoys and what you feel is appropriate for his level and learning style. After all, what's most important is your son's happiness.

Do you mean Tom Hutchinson's Project English? If so, I think he's a very good at creating materials. I don't have much experience with teaching young learners, but I have used other books he's written and found them to be better and more engaging than most. ;-)

There're both Project and Project English by Tom Hatchinson. So, Project then ;-), for elephants and monkeys start annoying my boy :lol:. Thank you for your opinions.
