Which is not true?
Excerpts from Longman
"
except
1 used to introduce the only person, thing, action, fact, or situation about which a statement is not true:
except for
She felt fine except for being a little tired.
"
It seems she didn't feel a little tired, doesn't it?

No. She did feel tired. That (tiredness) is the only thing that's not true about the statement 'She felt fine.'
She felt fine except for being a little tired. = She felt fine in all respects except one, and that one is this: she was a little tired.
