Potential English teacher

I am going to do research on applying new EFL teaching methods in Mongolian universities.
Could you inform me what the EFL approach is for teaching methods?

I know Communicative appoach is widely used. How about Task based approach?
Please advise me where (what website) I can find recent EFL methodology information?

There are books like Larsen Freeman's looking at methods used, but nowadays I think the general tendency is to mix and match rather than stick to one.
