My dear friend!
I have been a teacher for almost 12 years now. The secret I think is to make your students love and trust you. Be their friend when the lesson finishes and earn their respect in the classroom. This is what I am doing.

How to become a better and more successful English teacher may require the following (but not only the following):
1. Know grammar and other language/linguistics-related subjects.
2. Be open minded about all knowledge fields to the best of your ability: philosophy, history, literature, art, also science and anything else you can think of.
3. Be an educator in the most wholesome manner; you do not only teach grammar!
4. Try your best to love or at least to have empathy towards people--if you're not there yet, don't worry, just work on yourself (DO worry if you're evil!)
5. Courage--you 'll need it for the many doubts and dilemmas you''ll encounter.
6. Make sure you enjoy your work--if you don't, see what you can do.

I'd love to hear a reply, a comment and/or criticism. Good Luck
