Beginners class. Tenses to avoid.
I have to teach a first year ESL class. My main focus is reading a postcard. Can anyone advise which tenses I should avoid? (ie, tenses that might be too difficult)?
Thanks

Re: Beginners class. Tenses to avoid.
If the aim is to read a postcard, then the tenses and forms that are likely to appear in one should be the focus, shouldn't they. As many postcards are written during a stay, the present perfect, which might not be taught at that level in some courses, strikes me as important, while third conditional forms are far less likely to occur.
