What is the best technique to teach writing a paragraph?

There's rarely a best way to teach anything; what works for one operson may not work for another. Also, a good paragraph at beginner level and at advanced level may be judged in different ways, so it's very hard to answer such a broad question. What levels, etc, are your students?
