passive voice and conjunctions

I wanted to ask you if you can confirm me this grammatical point in english
can we use the verb to win in the passive voice?
eg brazilia won the world cup in 1995............active voice
the world cup was won by brazilia in 1995 ......passive voice
is the above sentence correct or not; there are some who say that the verb is not an action verb (to win) and consequently we cannot use it in the passive voice. Can u please cofirm this for me at your earliest convenience??
also i wish to request you to kindly confirm whether in expressing concession with the conjunction "although" we are oblidged to follow it with a nominal phrase?

I believe that both of your sentences are correct.
I've heard and seen 'to win' used in the passive voice many, many times.

'Although' introduces a clause of concession.
Although he is four, the boy can read and write.

Any clause has a subject-predicate unit.
Subject - he
Predicate - is four.

What do you mean by a nominal phrase here?
