Listening an d speaking skills

Hi!
I'm studying to be an English teacher, and I shuold to teach a class based on Listening and speaking skills with pre-, while- and post stages or task based approaches. the lenght of the class is 60 min and I've 23 students

Before you plan anything, shouldn't you get information about their levels, age, etc?
