Default Teaching Functions/Expressing Hope

Hi there this is my first post, so please be kind to me.

I have to prepare a 1 hour lesson on functions to a pre-intermediate English learner class. I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips or ideas on the subject. The lesson has to involve real communication with I hope/I hope not. Also I have to develop a game or the students have to develop a poster on their own hopes etc. I just wondered if anyone had any ideas? The class is about an hour.

Cheers,

Any help would be most appreciated
