Very nice idea Richard "cycle of renewal" or perhaps just to forget some memories whether good or bad because they are a source of hope and misery. The planting metaphor is in a way like giving birth to new life. But the birth of a child is also a constant reminder of the memories of the past. So the plant metaphor makes you forget because it is renewal. I agree.

The planting is of a rudder, useless without something to control, a broken walkie talkie, which doesn't communicate, and a spoon, which I am not sure about. ;-)
