| I'm happy to have discovered this forum which is among the most crowed and effective forums of ESL. As I know that there're a lot of people who are speaking English as the first or official language here whom I love to ask to do me a favour. My graduation paper (thesis) is about the language of English advertising emails. Its topic is "The Language of English Advertising Email from a Perspective of Politeness". So I'm in need of about 20 English advertising emails to analyze. You may receive advertising emails everyday in your mail box and sometimes you find an interesting email Please kindly send me from 1 to 5 advertising emails in English which you like best to : Those emails are only used for analyzing the language and you can request me to hide your email address. Thank you so much! | I am afraid my reaction to this is you must be joking. I spend a great deal of my time getting rid of spam and there is no way I will copy anyone into it. Set up an email account and lay yourself open to spam and you will not have any shortage of advertising emails. |

| Most of them don't seem to have much in the way of politeness; they focus on trying to get past the spam protection systems and this drives the content. A few months ago they were quoting texts from books as a way of getting round the Bayesian filters. Now they're appear to be trying to use synonyms that people will understand but not the filters. Have you seen this site? Ebola Monkey Man: Nigerian 419 Scam BTW Anglika; get Gmail- very little spam gets through. |

| Thanks for the suggestion - I've got four e-mail accounts now and am leery about yet another! I will probably have to go that way in the end, though. |

| I know the feeling, but seeing my pristine inbox makes up for it. |

If I may I'll endorse Tdol's suggestion re: Gmail. I just signed up for it a couple of weeks ago and not one single spam has gotten through. You also get quite a few add-ons which you might find useful. In particular a very large amount of storage space. I am not employed by Google, I promise. Cheers |
