"some cakes/chickens etc" isn't a small version of "a cake/chicken etc", is it?
It's only quantitative measurement, not qualitative or about size. Or not?

Do you mean 'Is that OK now?'

Does that mean you've edited your post to include one or two complete sentences? If so, your meaning is still unclear.
 
Some chickens is more than two but not a huge number of chickens. A chicken is one chicken.
