Are both these sentences acceptable?
 
The first one is Ok, but the second, I don't know ^^!

Other variations: There are a few things to do before this project is finished. There are a few things to do to get this project finished. There are a few things left to do before this project is finished. There are a few more things to do before this project is finished.
