[Vocabulary] upper cook room

What is the meaning of "Upper cook room" in the following context:

"SO WE START OFF
WITH PEAS AND CARROTS
AND CORN AND POTATOES
AND BEEF,
AND IT ALL ARRIVES
IN OUR UPPER COOK ROOM."

The chef was talking about how to make freeze dried beef stew.

It sounds as if they have more than one kitchen to me- an upper and a lower one.

Tdol might well be right but 'cook room' doesn't sound very English - was it written by a native speaker?

You sure? I've just googled "upper cook room" and there are only 2 matches - both within the last 24 hours. I might have added a 3rd with this entry.

I got two results from this thread and a quote from an 1829 book Transactions of the Medical and Physical Society of Calcutta in Google. It's not an expression I have ever heard either.
