Which one is correct?

You gave all the people there, including myself, a start.
You gave all the people there, myself included, a start.

Thanks.

Interesting post.

Grammatically, it should be "me" instead of "myself."

However, the "myself included" sounds just fine to my ears. Have I become immune to it after reading so many (incorrect) "feel free to contact John or myself" posts, or is there another role that can be played by "myself" that makes this one work.

I'll look forward to a grammarian's answer.

I agree with Barb that it should be "me", at least in the first sentence. However (and I can't explain why!) using "myself" with the construction of the second sentence sounds OK.

The overuse of the -self suffix has become quite ridiculous in the UK. In my previous job, I regularly heard my colleagues on the phone saying to a caller "When you phone back, ask for myself" or something similar. It was always all I could do not to leap across the desk, shouting "It's ASK FOR ME!!" :-o

To me, neither wrong sentence sounds better than the other. But with the correct pronoun, 'me', I would choose the first sentence.

You mean non of those sentences are correct!

Neither of your two sentences is correct, because "myself" is wrong. 'me' would be correct.
And with 'me', I definitely prefer the first sentence, but I wouldn't go so far as to say the second sentence with 'me' would be wrong.

There's an interesting and fairly detailed article about including me/myself included etc here:
Language Log Me included
