I'm not sure whether I put it in the correct tenese. Suppose I wrote:

My friend "Why didn't you come to the party?"

My answer "During the last week I've been pretty bussy."

"During the last week" means up to this moment and it is this week. Am I right?

"During the last week I've read five books." Ok?

***nether a teacher nor a native-speaker***

The last week is over. So, it's "During the last week I was pretty busy.".

What about teachers?

Note spelling of busy.
