Good Afternoon:

An Old Time Country General Store Name in the making is Busy Bees General Store.

Would it be correct to say on the Sign.......Busy Bees General Store or Busy Bee's General Store?????

Many Thanks;

Busy Bee

Does "Busy Bee" own the store? If so, use the possessive.

*Not a teacher

Busy Bees' General Store (possessive)

This if Busy Bees is company's name.

Good Afternoon:

I have been out of town & I appreciate the quick reply. To tell you the truth, I have been down here with all of these Country Folks for so long, all of my College & High School Grammar has left me.

I will own the store along with my wife of 35 years. So, Busy Bee or Busy Bee's or Busy Bees'.

You sound like my old 12th Grade English Teacher with your reply. In which I sat there, as lost as I am now.

With All Best Wishes:

Busy Bee

If you (singular) are "Busy Bee" and you own the store then use the possessive. "Busy Bee's."

To tell you the truth, well, shucks, that sure does surprise me from a retired academic.

Good Afternoon Again:

Many Thanks for the reply. I am beginning to understand all of this. Sam Wall certainly had similar problems.

Not to get real technical and or "out of sorts", for the benefit of our nice European neighbors, We have several Partners and employees. If they were considered Busy Bees and were associated with the Name Busy Bee's General Store, Would your answer above apply to this new question?

With All Best Wishes:

Busy Bee ;-)

One Busy Bee: Busy Bee's General Store
Two Busy Bees: Busy Bees' General Store

Have you checked the answers you received back in September 2009?

BUSY BEE OR BUSY BEES

Well spotted, jed.

It looks like htmeeks is no nearer opening his store than he was 18 months ago. . .

. . .and is still dithering about the apostrophe.

Ht, ask yourself who's going to care about what you call your store.

A few years ago a pub in Accrington was named The Bee's Knee's.

Not many noticed the mistake, and those of us who did just had to put up with it.

Well, he has had his simple-minded fun at our expense.

It's gratifying to know we have a purpose in life.

Good Morning:

Yes, I did open it my friend..............That is a small two man operation within a local community........I figured Bees & Country Boys might differ in my innocent inquiry.........Even though this is an extremely small rural area, many people travel through our area....Even Larry The Cable Guy mentioned one of our small local establishments, on one of his programs.........Just trying to look half way straight among the educated public..........

It appears that our European neighbors are quiet cranky concerning Country Boy's and Bees.......I thought this was a Forum to discuss Correct English Grammar. Down here in Hillbilly Country, we get rid of Teachers' with this type of personality and attitude. I consider this matter closed.

Thanks for all yawls’ interest in making this subject & post part of your daily entertainment......... :shocked!:

Busy Bee ;-)

And that's why you need to come to an Internet forum to ask random people about how to use an apostrophe. Also, try easing off the . button.

Closed indeed.
