put upon
to use somebody's kindness for your own advantage by asking them to do things for you that you should not expect them to do
'I felt that my mother had been put upon.'
(Collins Cobuild 30th Anniversary Edition)
put-upon ADJ if you are put-upon, you are treated badly by someone who takes advantage of your willingness to help them.[INFORMAL]
'Volunteers from all walks of life are feeling put-upon.'
(Collins Cobuild Advanced Learner's Dictionary)
I know some similar phrasal verbs as 'take advantage of', 'get the most out of', and single verb. I wonder whether 'take advantage of' and 'use' are used as the synonyms to 'put upon' as negative meaning. Do the sentences below essentially have the same meanings as the above two dictionary example sentences?
I felt that my mother had taken advantage of.
I felt that my mother had been used.
Volunteers from all walks of life are feeling taken advantage of.
Volunteers from all walks of life are feeling been used.
