Using "continue" in passive for or active form?

Which one is right?

Genociding people was still continuing.
Or
Genociding people was still being continued.
 
'Genocide' is not a verb. Neither sentence is possible.

Genocide is a noun. Try to construct your sentence again.
 
Mass killing was still continuing.
Or
Mass killing was still being continued.
 
Why did you not continue with "genocide"? Note that "mass killing" is not necessarily the same as "genocide".
 
I don't know how I can use '"genocide" in a sentence!

[The] genocide is still happening.
