I wonder if I have written the above sentences in a way that can be understood. Is there a better of way of phrasing it? Thanks

First of all, it is difficult to see how behaviour and cognition go together. You should probably consult dictionaries to learn the meanings of cognition and cognitive. Assuming, however, that they do form a reasonable pair for reasons that I have failed to see:

1) One of my friends always imitates me behaviourally and cognitively.

2) One of my friends always does imitations of my behaviour and cognition.

Cognition is to do with a person's thinking and mental processes.
You can imitate behaviour, the way a person acts, but I don't see how you can imitate the way a person thinks.

You can copy someone's ideas, but I feel like tedtmc about copying someone's mental processes.
