Here are a few proverbs that spring to mind.

1. Money is the root of all evil. This one is very ancient.

2. Money cannot buy happiness.

3. Money may not buy happiness, but it makes unhappiness easier to bear.
 
4. Money can't buy you friends, but it can get you a better class of enemy(ies).

Let's not forget that money can't buy you love.
 
Money doesn't bring happiness, only shopping does. I heard that from many girls so it's actually might be pretty close to the truth :)
 
I heard somewhere that if you work too much you do not have time to make money.
 
That's a good one. I think there's a good deal of truth in it.
 
Money doesn't bring you happiness but I'd rather cry in a Ferrari!
