What do you say when you have e. g. a lunch and want to add more food because you like it a lot or you are still hungry?

You "have seconds" or "go back for seconds."

'Please can I have some more?'

Sounds vaguely like something Dickens would write. Then a bunch of people would start singing. :)

That is what what I was looking for. I have heard it but could not find it written anywhere. Thanks.

Second helping is also used.

It's neither slang nor particularly formal. It's just what some people choose to say.

I'm going back for more.
I'm going back for seconds.
I'm going back for a second helping.

Note that if you still want more after that, you go back for "thirds" or a "third helping", (then "fourth(s) etc).

That is very good to know. Thank you for sharing these.
