As you all know, our school is planning to replace the books with new cutting-edge computers. Despite being agreed by almost all students, I would like to put my suggestions forward about the pros and cons of such a big move.

Almost! You're just missing a preposition after "agreed" - you can use upon or on. (I used upon because your sentences have a more formal tone to them. )

Well, must agree have a preposition after? If so, it can be about as well, can't it?

Whilst I prefer the addition of a preposition, I wouldn't say it's obligatory.

They asked us if we minded our text books being replaced by computers. The move was agreed by everyone at the time but now many are wondering if it's really a good idea.

This must be a British vs. American English thing, because without the preposition it sounds extremely awkward to me!
(Oh, and another preposition that could follow "agreed" is to.)
