Dear all,

While I was talking to my friend, there were some terrible noise so I said to my friend "we could have discussed on some topics if there had not been any noise"

According to conditional #3, is my sentence in quotations okay/correct?
If not, please kindly correct it for me.

Thanks,

Without "on" and with the capital at the beginning and the full stop at the end, it's a correct sentence.

Wow! Is it correct? Okay, I think I have enough knowledge of conditional cases. I used "on" because I have seen "discuss" followed by "on". Anyway! Thanks for the answer and I really found it helpful.

I used "on" because I have seen "discuss" followed by "on".

Are you sure about that? I can't make that sound natural.

Oh no! I have made a big mistake. The word I am talking about is "plan" not discuss. I just looked it up in my Cambridge dictionary.

You can't replace "discuss" with "plan" in your example and make it sound natural either.
