Please take a look at the sentences below.

1. He could pursue his studies undisturbed.
2. We might continue our discussions undisturbed.

Is the word "undisturbed" an adjective or an adverb? If it is an adjective, it is used to modify the subjects "He" and "We". If If it is an adverb, it is used to modify the transitive verbs "pursue" and "continue".

All my dictionaries say it is an adjective. If so, the sentences above do not fit in with any English sentence patterns, because there is no such pattern as "S + Vt + O + SC". I do need language experts' opinions. Thank you.

It can be an adjective, e.g."when the archaeologists entered the tomb they found it undisturbed."

I think the best answer to your two examples is that undisturbed is an adverb modifying the Verb Phases "could pursue" and "might continue."
